Mission:
The High School Library Media Association (HSLMA) meets four times throughout the school year to “promote and stimulate professional growth through an exchange of information and ideas and encourage cooperation and understanding among its members.”

What is HSLMA?
The High School Library Media Association began in 1987 as a librarian organization for Chicago Public Schools librarians. Shortly thereafter it opened its membership to all highs school librarians in the Chicago land area.
Yearly Membership: Professional $15.00. Retired or Student $10.00.

Why join HSLMA?
For very reasonable dues you have the opportunity to hear quality programming, see showcased libraries, exchange information, and get to know colleagues on an informal basis. HSLMA meets four times a year (Saturday mornings) to promote high school librarianship and exchange information on current practices in our libraries. A short program and tour of the meeting location rounds out the morning. Meeting locations are chosen throughout the Chicagoland area, and in a variety of libraries; including college, public, and special libraries, as well as high school libraries. Refreshments are provided. We promote programs and conferences of other professional organizations. Our smaller organization is an excellent place to get to know others.
