President’s Corner
Spring breaks at area schools are coming at many different stages of spring weather this year. Whatever the temperature outside, I hope everyone is able to enjoy some time to relax a bit before the final push of the school year. This year I visited the Abraham Lincoln Museum in Springfield and confirmed my belief that he was our greatest President.

Seeing the artifacts at the Springfield museum made me want to visit the Lincoln memorabilia at the Chicago History Museum. We will all have that opportunity when we attend the April 30 HSLMA meeting, “Past Is Prologue,” at the museum. Heidi Moisan and YasminDalal will tell us how we librarians can make our students and faculty aware of all the resources available to us at this world class museum. RSVP by Wednesday, April 27, to **mediamanjay@comcast.net**.

Another successful year of HSLMA meetings is drawing to a close. Thank you to all the librarians and presenters who have made this an interesting year. Although that wintery January meeting at National-Louis University seems like a distant memory now, the information and insights we gleaned from Gail Bush and the Booklist andBook Links editors continue to assist us. Have you taken advantage of the “Donation Station” yet?

I want to extend my deepest thanks to everyone who made this a good year for HSLMA. I believe very strongly in the worth of this gem of an organization.

Next year President Cynthia Armstrong and Vice President Henrietta Lowery, along with their very capable board of officers, will continue to provide the quality programming that is the hallmark of our association.

Thank you for the privilege of serving HSLMA as President. See you April 30!!
